Q: Do I need to be a Penn State alumnus in order to be a chapter member?
A: No, any supporter of Penn State can become a member regardless of their previous affiliations with other educational institutions.
Q: Do I need to live or work in the Greater Chicago Area in order to be a member?
A: No, membership is not limited to residents of Chicago. However, a vast majority of our chapter events occur in the Chicago area..
Q: I am a member of the national Penn State Alumni Association. Does this make me a member of the Chicago chapter?
A: Yes it does! The Penn State Alumni Association has recently introduced their One Membership model, meaning that being a member of the general alumni association also grants you local chapter membership.
Q: I am a member of the Nittany Lion Club. Does this make me a member of the chapter?
A: Unfortunately, it does not.
Q: I want to get involved but do not want to responsibility of a board position. What can I do?
A: We are always looking for volunteers to assist our chapter. If you are interested in lending a helping hand by joining a committee, please contact the committee chair or our president.
Q: I want to offer a benefit or discount to your members. How may I do so?
A: If you have a valuable benefit or discount that you would like to extend to our members, please contact the committee chair or our president.
Q: I want to submit something for the chapter newsletter. How may I do so?

Q. I am a current PSU student from the Chicago area (or my child is), how can I apply for or find out more info about our scholarship programs?
A. Applications will be sent by email to all eligible students during the summer. Eligible students must be full-time, have completed at least 1 year at Penn State, and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. For more information, please contact the scholarship chair.
Q: I am a Penn State graduate and my child would like to apply to Penn State. Is there someone in Chicago they can speak with?
